Authors Announce Release of Children's Fantasy Book Medusa Island

Stuart and Linda Macfarlane are proud to announce the release of their children's fantasy novel Medusa Island. The book, which is geared towards children aged 9 to 12 and parents, invites readers to explore a mythical world in which the evil Doctor X turns people and animals into creatures on the Scottish island of Gogha.

As the story opens, Melissa, our 11-year old heroine has just been turned into the mythical creature Medusa - complete with squirmy snakes in her hair. In an effort to seek help for the islanders, Melissa escapes to Scotland's mainland, where she quickly learns that anyone that looks at her turns immediately to stone…unless they are wearing protective sunglasses like her new friends Simon and Ross. How will the trio put an end to Doctor X's evil scheme and save the world?

"Medusa Island is a fabulously funny fantasy novel," says co-author Stuart Macfarlane. "We wanted to create a book that children and parents can read together and that will truly take them away into a world of fantasy and imagination. This is a book that resonates with all audiences because of the intricacy of the world we created and the many levels within that world to which each reader can relate differently."

The authors are gearing up for a busy holiday sales season and are currently scheduling reading engagements in bookstores and libraries throughout the UK.
